Leckie Mattox Remains Croquet Club Champion

There were 13 Croquet Club members participating in the Fourth Annual Tournament to determine the Croquet Club Champion for 2026. Terry Honan and Leckie Mattox organized the event which took place over three evenings - September 23, 24 and 25. The following members participated: Hernan & Rita Benavides, Sterling Green, Dean Harlamert, Terry Honan, Beth and Glenn Kasper, Kelly and Leckie Mattox, Cindy and John Murray, Anne Schaeffer, and Brigitte Weatherford.

Matches were arranged in a bracketed single elimination format with higher ranked players competing against lower ranked. Participants were ranked according to reported average scores or from last year’s rankings.

Quarter Final Matches were played on Thursday evening. Anne Schaeffer defeated Glenn Kasper, Cindy Murray defeated Terry Honan, Dean Harlamert defeated John Murray and Leckie Mattox defeated Brigitte Weatherford.

Semi Final Matches were played on Friday, September 25th . Leckie Mattox defeated Dean Harlamert in a close one. Anne Schaeffer defeated Cindy Murray. The finals match followed and Leckie Mattox defeated Anne Schaeffer to retain his title for the fourth year.

Several non-participating ECC members came to support and enjoy the event. Those already eliminated from the tournament also came to show support for their fellow Croquet Club members.
