Jan Taylor Memorial Tournament Benefits St. Jude Children’s Hospital

The Fourth Annual Jan Taylor Memorial Tournament was held on Wednesday, September 16th. There were 40 golfers, comprising 10 4-Person Teams. After play the groups comprised two flights. The Top 3 teams in each flight participated in a Shoot Out to Determine the winners of each flight. There were some impressive scores thanks to all of the teams purchasing the Trick Package. The Trick Package allowed each team member – one cup shot, one mulligan, moving up to the red or purple tees on the Par 3’s and shot assistance from Cathy Taylor on #3 Green. All of the tricks added fun to the players and assisted in some low scoring teams. The Shoot Out Participants were as follows:

First Flight

First Place with a score of 51 – Robin Flewellen, Ricky Huner, BJ Williams and Chase Whitehead.

Second Place with a score of 52 – Chris Jeffrey, Hunter Jones, Stan Sellers and Anthony Sheppard

Third Place with a score of 54 – Dennis Biddy, Garry Garrison, John Parker and Paul Voors

Second Flight

First Place with a score of 58 – Jim Fussell, Dan O’Neill, Ben Restivo and Mark Rice

Second Place with a score of 60 – Jason Curran, Tom Davis, Britt Irvin and Charles Irvin

Third Place with a score of 62 – Tony Atkins, Cary Priest, David Taylor and Chris Tew. These team placed by regression over the team of Bob Ragan, BJ Taylor, Bobby Taylor and Don Otto who also shot a 62.

After the shootout the winner of the First Flight shootout was the team of Robin Flewellen, Ricky Huner, BJ Williams and Chase Whitehead. The winners of the Second Flight shootout were Tony Atkins, Cary Priest, David Taylor and Chris Tew.

After the Shootout, all enjoyed food, drinks, and music provided by Mike English. We were also entertained with performances by Cathy Taylor and Stan Sellers.

We appreciate all of the golfers who participated. Their participation as well as the generosity of several individuals allowed us to donate an estimated memorial gift of $5,000 in Jan’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This is a charity that was near and dear to Jan’s heart. We are pleased to be able to continue to offer support in his memory. Profits from the tournament as well as individual donations made this donation possible.
